In a world where the availability of clean and fresh water is reducing while the demand is increasing, there is a need for a more circular use of water. But how to decide on the optimal water re-use scheme that delivers water of the right quality to the different water users, now and in the future? And what investments are needed? That’s where AquaVest comes in!

AquaVest is Water Innovator of the Year 2020!!

We won this prize for the development of the AquaVest tool. The tool takes a holistic approach and provides insight into the complexity of the water system. We model the current water system consisting of water volume flows and existing infrastructure, and we identify the additional infrastructure investments required to meet future demands for water at lowest costs. We consider investments in water treatment technology, water storage and water distribution. In addition to cost savings of up to 20%, the software also provides insight into who should invest, when and how much. That is a good basis for more cross-sectoral collaboration in the water sector!

AquaVest is developed in partnership with Quo Mare B.V.

Aplication areas
AquaVest can be applied to develop regional master plans on sanitation, water storage and water reuse that consider not just the hydrological, but also the infrastructural, economic and organizations aspects.

Our services
Our core services consist of watersystem optimisation, watertransition planning and pain-gain sharing. Additional services relate to impact assessments, water technology evaluation and impact investing.

We contribute to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals

“The treatment and distribution of effluents as tailor-made water will be an integral solution for fresh water preservation. We as a waterboard see this as one of our primary goals, especially since our river basin is situated in an area of high sandy grounds. It is our firm intention to contribute to the further development and application of AquaVest.” Istvan Koller, transition manager industry and environment, Waterschap De Dommel.
